"World Predictions and U" solidified an ideal that Bejan Daruwalla, Asha, and Arvind keep in their hearts:
To move into the 21st century with healing, happiness, love, luck, and laughter.
and
To bring together the east and west for greater understanding and increased harmony.
We all use our disciplines to help people. It takes time and understanding to see the value of all cultures. Through meeting and sharing, we took another step towards harmony in December 2000.
Traveling to India is a first for our delegation. Asha and Arvind insist we must see the splendors of their country as part of the conference. In Delhi, we stayed at the Indian Institute for International Studies, temporary home for traveling dignitaries and politicians.Our conference is viewed with interest, as reporters from Times of India and Hindu Times interview us and Marjorie Orr, British astrologer and columnist for Mid Day newspaper in Mumbai.Still, we have time to relax, walk around the park next to the Institute, and visit special memorials, such as the Gateway to India and Gandhi's Memorial. Taj Mahal, in Agra, is breath-taking. Asha arranged for a retired architect to act as our guide and teach us the history, as well as discuss tales of intrigue and focus on the architectural wonder of building a marble structure with perfectly set inlays of precious stones. In Delhi, not only had we met Marjorie Orr, but also Dr. Brahma Gopal Bhadury of Varanasi (U.P.). His knowledge of Hindu astrology was as vast as his texts were ancient. We were blessed with his sharing of these texts, some written on vegetable parchment that is so old the dates are only guessed.
With our tour of northern India over, we flew to Mumbai. As with all dignitaries in India, we were greeted with garlands of flowers.At our hotel, we also met Gayatri Devi Vasudev, editor of The Astrological Magazine, Bangalore, India. She was actively involved with Dr. B.V. Raman, who restarted the magazine in 1936 and ran it until his death in 1998. Dr. Raman's mission was to bring astrology into the community of science. Gayatri continues his mission today.
My time in India increased my personal commitment to helping people achieve success in their lives. I met many people who seek to balance spirituality and material success. I received blessing in the Hindu Temples and lessons in Indian culture. My short notes can never come close to expressing the love and respect I feel towards my Indian colleagues, clients, and new found friends.
